SENIOR BUILDING SYSTEMS ENGINEER

MaGrann Associates is looking for a Senior Building Systems Engineer who will focus on developing commissioning services and processes for New Construction, as well as some Existing Multifamily Projects. This professional will ensure that installed equipment and systems are functioning at the optimal efficiency level.

Primary Responsibilities:

Review equipment submittals and shop drawings for overall compliance with the design intent, owner’s requirements, manufacturer’s recommendations, and code.

Lead and organize on-site construction contractors functional testing of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and control systems.

Prepare accurate and timely progress reports to communicate commissioning progress and issues with project time.

Responsible for writing commissioning plans and reports.

Perform retro-commissioning and diagnostic work as required.

Perform NYC TR8 energy code inspections.

Mentor others on commissioning responsibilities.

Manage multiple projects at once ensuring that established schedules are being met.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Architecture degree with 3 years of related experience – or – Certified Energy Manager – or - 2-year Associate’s Degree with 5 years of related experience.

Current Commissioning Certification or ability to obtain the certification within 3 months of hire.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Knowledge of HVAC engineering theories and methodologies.

Knowledge of building automation and controls.

Knowledge of design documents.

Reliable travel abilities.

Work Environment:

Working out of the Mount Laurel, NJ Office (Roughly 70% office – 30 % regional field work)
