Primary Role:

The MEP Designer/Drafter assists engineers with detailed mechanical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design.  This candidate will generate technical drawings and coordination associated with MEP design, specifically with plumbing and fire protection. The position reports to the Operations Manager of Existing Buildings and Design.

Principal Duties:

• Work effectively with engineers to design and document mechanical and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and Revit

• Design and layout mechanical and plumbing systems under supervision of the Project Manager or Engineer

• Schedule and coordinate mechanical and plumbing equipment

• Attend pre-design, design, review, and construction meetings with clients

• Provide special technical assistance to clients and Associates

• Attend meetings, seminars, and conferences on code and energy related topics

Supplemental Information:

This is a full-time/non-exempt position based in our Mount Laurel, NJ office or Washington DC office. Salary will be commensurate with experience and reviewed at least annually for performance and opportunity potential. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum of Associates Degree in Mechanical Design (CAD) or a related field

• Relevant experience in residential construction and/or building energy efficiency and building science preferred, but not required

• Experience with HVAC or plumbing systems preferred, but not required

• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit

• Competencies: Works independently, takes initiative, exemplary written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail, admirable time management skills with managing of multiple projects
