General Description:

MaGrann Associates, an innovative energy/building consulting and engineering firm headquartered in Mount Laurel NJ with offices in Philadelphia PA, New York, NY, Washington, DC, Columbus, OH with operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  MaGrann Associates is looking to hire an entry level Energy Inspector who will, in time, become a HERS Rating Field Inspector (RFI).

 

The Energy Inspector is responsible for performance testing and evaluation for local energy code compliance.  We are seeking a motivated, hardworking individual who is willing to travel to job sites and is comfortable with using performance testing equipment and willing to grow into the position of HERS Rating Field Inspector.  The HERS Rating Field Inspector (RFI) is certified to conduct the inspections and necessary basic performance tests and collect the data to produce the home energy rating.

 

This is a non-exempt full time position.

Principal Duties:

• Perform Blower Door Testing on newly constructed homes;

• Perform Duct leakage testing on newly constructed homes;

• Visually verify insulation and air sealing checklist items;

• Communicate effectively with site supervisors for new construction projects;

• Support our technical consultants with field verification work for energy efficiency programs;

• Other duties as assigned.

Supplemental Information:

All candidates must have good communications skills and be able to work with testing equipment. Residential new construction or HVAC experience a plus.  Additional training and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate.

 

Computer skills must include Microsoft Office;

 

Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation.  Position is primarily field based with daily travel to construction sites and building projects throughout New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and occasionally northern Maryland and southern New York.
