COMMISSIONING PROFESSIONAL

General Description:

MaGrann Associates is an innovative leader in energy efficiency engineering and green building consulting.  We are headquartered in Mount Laure, NJ with offices in Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY, Washington, DC and Columbus, OH, and with operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

MaGrann Associates is looking for a passionate and dedicated Commissioning Professional who will lead Commissioning Services for New Construction as well as Existing Multifamily Projects. This professional will ensure that equipment and systems are functioning at the optimal efficiency level.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review equipment submittals and shop drawings for overall compliance with the design intent, owner’s and code requirements, and functional testing requirements

  • Lead and organize on-site construction contractors commissioning of HVAC, lighting, and control systems team.

  • Prepare accurate and timely progress reports to communicate commissioning progress and issues with project team

  • Responsible for writing commissioning plans and reports 

  • Participate in regular Cx team meetings to plan for and evaluate the progress of Cx activities

  • Perform retro commissioning and diagnostic work as required

  • Manage multiple projects at once ensuring that established schedules are being met

  • Mentor others on commissioning responsibilities.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years experience in the field

  • Reliable travel abilities

  • Current Commissioning Certification or ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Knowledge of HVAC engineering theories and methodologies

  • Knowledge of building automation and controls

  • Knowledge of design documents

  • Technical writing abilities

Work Environment:

  • Roughly 70% office -- 30% field

  • Excellent communicator – written and oral

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills

  • Admirable time management skills and managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Self-motivated
