Celebrating 10 Years of Efficient New Homes in Ohio
November 9, 2020
AEP Ohio's EfficiencyCraftedSM Program for Residential New Construction ended on September 30th as a result of recent changes in the Ohio regulatory landscape. The residential new construction program was one of the most honored in the nation, and the participating builders did a masterful job of constructing efficient homes using special techniques and materials.
Since it began in 2009, participating builders completed 16,198 homes in our service area under the EfficiencyCrafted Program. These AEP Ohio customers will benefit from energy savings as long as they own their homes, and currently enjoy annual savings of 43,640,592 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and an impressive $5,105,949 per year.
The program was honored with the EPA’s prestigious ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year award for ten consecutive years, and earned a 2019 American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Exemplary Programs Award.
MaGrann Associates has been responsible for the design and administration of the program since its inception and we are proud to share this summary of its accomplishments.
