Congratulations to the 2019 Groundbreaker Awards Finalists!

Finalists were announced by Green Building United (GBU) this week for the 2019 Groundbreaker Awards. The awards recognize and celebrate green building leadership, innovation, and impact in greater Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, and Delaware. GBU highlights completed projects and community leadership that promotes a sustainable, healthy and resilient built environment.
Two projects that we at MaGrann Associates were honored to be a part of - Anthony Wayne Senior Housing III and Strawberry Mansion Apartments - have been selected as finalists for the awards.
Anthony Wayne Senior Housing III is ENERGY STAR certified and was designed to meet Passive House standards. MaGrann was the Green Building Consultant for the project and helped the team through all aspects of its high performance goals. The architect for the project was JKRP Architects, the developer was Elon Development and the construction manager was Allied Construction Services. Altman Management Co. managed the project. Anthony Wayne was funded in part by the PHFA's Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and the City of Philadelphia.

Strawberry Mansion is a certified LEED for Homes “Smart Site Selection Site” for residential infill. MaGrann was the Green Building Consultant for the units which were built to Energy Star 3.0 standards and Enterprise Green Communities 2015 criteria for new construction. The project was developed by the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) and the architect was JKRP Architects.
